Occupational Therapist, Sophie Garratt, is leading the model in The Moberly Sports Centre.
QPG are delighted to be working in partnership with them.
Willmott Dixon are our first ever corporate sponsors who have continued to go above and beyond for the local community and young people in every sense. They sponsored QPG Football, ensuring that there are now six weekly Football sessions per week for a variation of ages and skills. In Autumn, 2017, they dug deep and helped us to renovate and open our first QPG offices and Community Hub, on Kilburn Lane in Queen’s Park. Led by Jennifer and her team, we have over 200 residents being supported in sports, training, and education at the hub each week. The children are very proud to wear their logo on our kits at our matches and training sessions.
A new partnership for 2018, we have been able to support the fantastic work already done by Future Men in Westminster by hosting a number of their brilliant training courses for young men who need free advice, support, training, and employment opportunities.
This very positive partnership is only set to grow throughout the years, and in the near future, we hope to link Future Men with a number of other wonderful organisations so as to improve the employability opportunities and statistics amongst the young men within Queen’s Park, as well as within the surrounding tri-borough communities.
Our brand new sponsor for the 2018 – 2021 period! Over the next three years, QPG and the team at Moberly Sports Centre will work together to ensure that all of our Sports staff and volunteers in Queen’s Park have access to each other’s sessions, encouraging active workforces, whilst promoting active lifestyles to younger generations who we all work with day-in-day-out. It is important to us that our staff teams feel good about themselves and the places they work. The new Moberly Sports Centre is home to a wonderful fully kitted out 120 station gym, community café, spa, and two swimming pools. Best of all, the children who are registered members of QPG get FREE swimming over the Summer with our new QPG passes.
We work with a number of Primary School children, many of whom attend Wilberforce Primary School, part of United Learning. Wilberforce who have recently received a ‘good with outstanding features’ from Ofsted are the perfect partners for QPG, as they share the exact same principles and beliefs as us when it comes to active lifestyles, nutrition and young people.
We are proud to have the opportunity to share responsibility of students on a daily basis and have hugely positive impact on their lives. We are currently working on a joint recycling campaign, to encourage young people to make further positive decisions outside of school and club. We are looking forward to developing this brilliant partnership over many years to come.
The StreetGames charity was set up by half a dozen organisers of neighbourhood sports projects. In 2005 they came together to make sport more widely available for disadvantaged young people and to maximise the power of sport to change young lives and to make a difference to disadvantaged communities. In April 2018 we were lucky to be the successful recipient of a three-year 'Street Games' Award in respect to our doorstep sports, tackling inequality and lack of activities for young people around our area. We are proud to work with them through their 'Fit and Fed' project in Summer 2018, ensuring that Summer is full of sports, and nourishment.
Working with Queen’s Park Rangers in the Community Trust we have been able to maximise the number of sessions we offer and ignite a passion for community Football in our local community that hasn’t been seen since the mid-1970’s when St Jude’s Boys team started and developed alongside QPR.
With expert guidance from Pablo and Kerry, we have also been able to, very proudly, start a Young Leaders Programme which has seen six over 14 year-old players train as future coaches, as well as seeing a number of our players offered trials around London.
We are proud to announce a new partnership with LifeJacket Sun Protection, whose mission is simple - to halt the growth of skin cancer in men. To do it, LifeJacket want to raise awareness of the risks of the sun's dangerous UV rays, and to make sun protection products specially formulated for men, helping them look and feel good all year round. The media has been instrumental in raising awareness in women - their creams and makeup usually has built in sun protection - but little has been done so far to raise awareness in men. LifeJacket aim to change this.
