April - QPG Newsletter For Wilberforce Pupils

Welcome to April's Edition of the QPG Newsletter for pupils of Wilberforce Primary School.

We have a jam-packed issue for you this month, with lots of fun and educational things to do, new languages to learn, as well as all the important term/ holiday dates. There's also an introduction to our new partner, Father Ackerman at St John's Church, on the corner of Kilburn Lane and Harrow Road.

QPG is also celebrating our birthday!

It's been 3 years since we started QPG Football, and 2 years since we started QPG Community and Sports Hub.

QPG Football began its life in the mind of Queen's Park Community Councillor, Ryan Dalton, who had not only grown up in the area, but had seen what the government cuts had stripped away from it, and was determined to create something that would fill the gap for all the young people who wanted to take advantage of it. That something began as QPG Football.

One year later, that something expanded into QPG Hub.

QPG Hub began a partnership with Wilberforce Primary School when they let us use the hub at 254 Kilburn Lane, and we were then able to offer more than the sports sessions in Queen's Park Gardens on Ilbert Street. Fantastic as the gardens are, the Hub allowed us to expand not only in providing after-school activities for the children of Wilberforce Primary, but in providing extra-curricular and evening sessions to the wider community.

We've come a long way in a short space of time, but we wouldn't have been able to do it nearly as quickly, if at all, without the help of our amazing partners and sponsors

Now, with all that said, here's the newsletter, where you can read all about the fantastic things heading your way!
