It's That Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, Christmas is upon us once more, and I wanted to say a few words in reflection as 2018 comes to an end.

What a year it has been, we have made great progress on our journey to providing our members with new, regular, and improved activities that can help to improve the levels of education and active lifestyles within our Community.

Sadly, we have lost three friends this year, who were all, in a special way, contributors to our wonderful projects. We send our thoughts & love at Christmas to their families.

In just the last year the QPG Community and Sports Hub team has grown from 8 volunteers to 29 volunteers. This has allowed us DOUBLE the amount of sessions and provide valuable new activities and subjects, such as Maths and Science club (with AWS) both of which have proven very popular with the children. We have seen brilliant summer camps with Streetgames UK, as well as our second ever QPG Halloween party, which was another huge success.

We are associated with new partners, such as Active Westminster and Groundworks, assisting each other with our individual goals, but more importantly, working together with the shared ambition of creating a fairer and more prosperous community for all.

One of the highlights of the year was the Serves Tennis Tournament that took place in Lee Valley tennis centre, just a stone's throw away from the home of the 2012 London Olympic games - The Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. In what was a brilliant day for everyone involved, 30 of our children took part in tournaments with Olympic tennis players, and our coaches partook in coaching lessons with Judy Murray (mother of Andy Murray) proving to be a truly special and invaluable experience that will allow us to provide even greater coaching in all sports we provide for years to come.

Lastly, I want to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped make the QPG dream become a reality. We rely entirely on the kindness and generosity of everyone who takes part and/or contributes in some way. We’ve made great progress in 2018, and 2019 looks to be even greater still.

From myself and everyone here at QPG Community and Sports Hub, we wish you a very Merry Christmas, a lovely holiday break, a Happy New Year, and a wonderful 2019.

Don't forget to donate today and help make this Christmas extra special for the children and young people who attend QPG Hub and QPG Football Academy!

Happy Christmas from all of us!
